DINNER

(this is not sponsored)

‘A scent that stays as the night deepens. DINNER captures the spice of a perfect evening, from inviting notes of nutmeg to the lasting musk. This is the one you'll reach for again and again.’ - @OMRBEAUTY [via Instagram caption]

We’ve analysed and evaluated BRUNCH.

We have dived into conversation about LUNCH.

And now, it’s time for the journey you’ve all desperately craved (by that I mean myself, mostly)...

Let's talk about DINNER, the final fragrance of OMR BEAUTY’s ‘Occasions’ collection. This one is my favourite, and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to write about this one. So without holding back, here is the fans’ (and my own) assessment of the last perfume oil from this bundle.

@lisannezellmer (on Instagram)

For starters, I obviously must mention the packaging of this perfume oil because of how exquisite it is. Similarly to the others in this collection, DINNER comes in its own unique box, designed specifically to capture the essence of the fragrance - a white background accompanied by the brand’s logo (which is the same for the whole collection), though this time a wine splatter design lays upon the surface. This theme clearly signifies the name of this perfume: DINNER. So simple, yet so effective.

The moment that OMR BEAUTY released the notes for each fragrance, I theorised that DINNER would be my favourite, due to the warm spice ingredients. Upon having the opportunity to smell it for myself when the package arrived, that idea was confirmed to be true. This scent is like no other I’ve discovered, and its unique aroma is beautifully unforgettable. It’s a scent to make you feel powerful, refined, and sophisticated.

Like many others, I cannot get over this one. So what does this marvelous creation smell like?

Starting off strong with vibrant and fruity hints, DINNER’s top notes of orange, osmanthus and ylang fill your senses immediately upon application. It brings a ripened sweetness to the fragrance, similar to the other oils in this bundle, and it’s the perfect way to start! The perfume suits the signature uniqueness of the OMR BEAUTY brand, while maintaining its own speciality with its gorgeous blend of exclusive elements.

The heart ingredients of this fragrance really define it, where the warm spices of nutmeg and cinnamon interlink with white flowers and give the perfume both a comforting and rich, as well as a floral, mixed scent. This layer balances perfectly, adding to the unique aroma of DINNER. The spices in particular are very apparent when smelling the fragrance - it’s very inviting! I feel that this layer really makes this perfume what it is, and it’s definitely my favourite blend of ingredients that OMR BEAUTY has created so far.

OMR BEAUTY certainly has some favourite elements when it comes to concocting their fragrances, which we see are used in multiple of their products.

@wilmonscoffee (on X)

For example, the base layer of DINNER is sculpted with fragments of musk, patchouli, woody spices and saffron, which are commonly used amongst other OMR BEAUTY scents. It’s an essential part of pulling these fragrances together, and it works every time. This layer unites DINNER’s ingredients as it settles, finishing off the perfume with an earthy and masculine touch, which perfectly balances the earlier floral and fruity aroma. It’s a powerful finish, yet it does not diminish the other ingredients, which still remain after the product has settled.

‘DINNER finishes strong with lingering spices that carry you through the night. ’ - @OMRBEAUTY [via Instagram caption]

One X/Twitter user described DINNER as ‘elegant’ when we asked, and I don’t think there is a more perfect word to define it. It’s warm, it’s rich and bold. It’s a fragrance that is a must for an evening event– it is comforting, distinguished, and flattering. Via Instagram caption, OMR BEAUTY states that ‘DINNER is made for nights you never want to end,’ which seems to be pretty accurate. ‘Dinner fits the title very well,’ one X/Twitter user states, and another adds that it is ‘rich and heavy, perfect for nights out.’

What do you think of this fragrance? Does it live up to its name?

‘The ‘Occasions’ collection, just like all OMR BEAUTY products, is designed for everyone – because scent isn’t about gender, it’s about self-expression!’ - @OMRBEAUTY [via Instagram caption]

@YOUNGROYALS_ESOW

Perhaps it is magic, or maybe just perfume making– same difference–but this collection is phenomenal. OMR BEAUTY has set the bar very high.

This has been an incredible topic to cover here at OMR NATION, and I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to discuss your views of these scents. Thank you to you all, and thank you to OMR BEAUTY for their outstanding work with this bundle! It’s been a pleasure.

I wonder what else is in store for OMR BEAUTY. Perhaps we’ll have more products to talk about soon…

YOUNG ROYALS

It’s been just over a year since Netflix released the final episode of Young Royals; just over a year since we’ve said goodbye to Wille and Simon; just over a year since the show that brought many of us together ended. It’s a bittersweet moment for the fandom, knowing that our show is over and we’ll get no more new Wilmon moments, but that Wille and Simon are happy and free.

Episode six encapsulates these feelings perfectly. Following the earth-shattering breakup of episode five, teary-eyed fans enter the last episode, unsure of whether or not Wilmon will even be endgame. We feel many of the same emotions from the second season, watching Wille and Simon dance around one another, totally crushed without the other, while still grappling with the fact that they might not be good for each other, that everything they’ve fought against was for nothing, and that their worlds were just too different.

Watching Wille lean against Felice and tell her that Simon is the love of his life while having to accept that he will have to sort his problems out by himself, and seeing Simon, crying in his own bed, upset that they just couldn’t make it work, the start of the episode is a hard watch. With it being the last episode, I remember sitting in my bed, hugging my pillow as I anxiously let the episode keep playing, tears already rolling down my face.

Young Royals, Season 3 Episode 6

Then, the party scene is completely heartbreaking, as a parallel to the first episode. I still remember watching the season’s trailer and trying desperately to make sense of Simon’s line, “Let’s just forget about everything, just for tonight.” Wille looks miserable and out of place, unable to simply slide into the “party prince” persona he used to hide behind. Simon is just as bad, fruitlessly trying to be the mature one and protect himself, but failing to fight the feeling in his heart that tethers him to the other boy, and he gives in first.

I immediately think back to the St. Valentine’s Ball kiss where despite everything, Simon searches for Wille. While he chases after him, you can feel his desperation. You can feel that they both know that everything is telling them to stop and not do this, but in that moment, it all goes away.

From there, we have the lake scene—and truthfully, no words can express just how beautifully cinematic that moment is. Edvin and Omar’s acting in that scene alone demonstrates just how well they know the two characters. It’s equally heart shattering— I still have yet to subject myself to a full rewatch of season three.

And of course, we continue into the last few minutes of the final episode, getting glimpses of the third years’ graduation and what life is like with Wille and Simon apart. The third years celebrate, and Wille watches on, sliding into the backseat of the car with his mother. The tension is painful, and for a brief moment, it feels like Wilmon is not endgame, and that the two will just be heartbroken forever—and that’s not even mentioning the “have a good summer” scene (a perfect parallel to the moment that Wille tells Simon he loves him for the first time while they were broken up in the first season).

Finally, though, Wille stands up for himself. He tells his mother that this is not the life for him, that his role as crown prince was suffocating him. Most importantly, he tells her that it’s not simply for Simon. Wille finally chooses himself, and that’s when he’s able to fully pursue Simon.

Running out of the car, and chasing after the love of his life, Wille quickly tries to catch up to Simon before he, Sara, and Felice drive away. He shouts after him, continuing after the car until he runs out of breath. But, the car stops anyway.

Young Royals, Season 3 Episode 6

Perhaps the most beautiful scene of the show, Wille and Simon reunite, teary-eyed when Wille tells Simon his decision. After a tumultuous journey, after surviving the worst of scandals and several breakups, Wille and Simon can finally love each other, free of all the external stressors from Wille’s position. In the end, they choose each other, and we are left with a compilation of all the major moments of their relationship.

Finally, Simon and Wille join Sara and Felice back in the car as they set off. Their futures may be unknown, but with the wide open road ahead of them, they are free, and they are together, and surprisingly, that’s all that matters.

Glancing into the camera one final time, Wille lets us know that he’ll be okay, no longer needing us to watch over him. And, then, the show is over.

Again, it’s just a whirlwind of emotions thinking about it all. What I can say though is that Young Royals has clearly had a major impact on so many people, including myself. It has forged together a community through its portrayal of young queer love and commitment to the characters and the final project. Every piece of the show feels handcrafted, and clearly thought out. It is overwhelmingly obvious that everyone put their everything into it. While it is sad to think about its end, the one year anniversary of its conclusion reminds us that it will never truly go away. The effect the show has had on people, the story of Wilmon, and the actors–such as Omar Rudberg, himself–the show introduced to many of us are all still here.

As long as we continue to talk about Wilmon and Young Royals, the show will never truly be over.

(P.S. I just wanted to leave a sappy thank you here, on behalf of myself and those of us who found Young Royals in a dark place. This show means so much, and for that, I just wanted to say thank you–to Omar, and everyone else who made it as magical as it is.)
